SME Telecoms operates on an Australia-wide, aggregated and highly redundant private IP network that utilises leading-edge Cisco router and switching technology. Built on a highly scalable infrastructure, our network allows our customers to facilitate point-to-point or multipoint connectivity either in conjunction or independent of the Internet.

With more than 40 interconnections with Major Carriers across six cities in Australia, SME provides a broad range of ‘last mile’ connectivity options that vary in speed, contention and price, including ADSL/ADSL2+, NBN, Ethernet over Copper, Ethernet over Wireless, Wireless 3G/4G and Fibre. SME can also custom build ‘last mile’ fixed PTP Wireless options for those hard to reach places.

The SME network has been designed to support Quality of Service (QoS), which enables prioritization of our customer’s performance-sensitive applications, such as VoIP and video conferencing. QoS helps with two network problems: bandwidth and time sensitivity. This means that our customers have more control over their bandwidth resources and can manage them more efficiently, thereby improving user performance and reducing cost.

Network Infrastructure

Core network is built on a 100% Cisco foundation with a completely redundant architecture.

‘Last mile’ options

Multiple carrier options using ADSL/ADSL2+, Ethernet over Copper, Ethernet over Wireless, Ethernet over Fibre, Wireless 3G/4G and satellite.

Quality of Service

QoS provides control over resources for example you can limit the bandwidth for File Transfer Protocol (FTP) transfers or give priority to mission critical applications that are most important to your business.

Additional Services

SME provides a range of optional high-quality services such as on-site or hosted VoIP options and crucial live data back-up options across their secure private network.
